Ayman Yahya’s return boosts Saudi squad ahead of Tajikistan clash

RIYADH: ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s national football team were given a boost with the return of Ayman Yahya to training on Tuesday evening ahead of their double-header against Tajikistan in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.

The Green Falcons will host the first leg in Riyadh on Thursday night, and then travel to Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe for the second clash on March 26.

The 22-year-old Al-Nassr winger was yesterday declared fit to return to the training session held at Al-Awwal Park Stadium under the supervision of Italian head coach Roberto Mancini.

The session started with warm-up exercises followed by various tactical drills, a full-field match, and ended with stretching.

Mancini will hold a press conference on Wednesday at the stadium to discuss the match against Tajikistan, the Green Falcons’ third fixture in the third round of the qualifiers.

¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ lead Group G with a maximum of six points after a  4-0 victory at home against Pakistan, followed by 2-0 win in Jordan.

The squad will conclude their preparations on Wednesday evening at Mahd Academy Stadium in a session that will be open to the media for the first 15 minutes.
